Infanta Sofia already has a date for her long-awaited solo debut

There is already a date for Infanta Sofia’s long-awaited solo debut at an official event. Aged 17 and just two days after starting her Christmas break at UWC Atlantic College in Wales, where she is studying in her second year of International Baccalaureate. Princess Leonor’s sister will present the awards to the winners of the National Heritage Photo Competition which will be held at 5:00pm at the Royal Collection Gallery.

The jury highlighted the high level of participants, their quality and thematic diversity in sharing images of historical, cultural and natural heritage and royal places of our country. The prize is a double name card with free access to all Royal sites for one year, a double ticket to a concert held at the Royal Palace in Madrid with the famous Stradivarius violin, and a set of books.

All selected photographs, ten in each category, will be the star of a temporary exhibition at the Royal Collection Gallery and will be included in a dedicated microsite on the institution’s website.

This was the first institutional role that Philip VI assigned to his youngest daughter for the Crown. Sophia de Bourbon never participated in any official engagements alone and her activities were always accompanied by her parents, the king or her sister. This is the Infanta’s formal solo debut and shows that she will become a very important asset to the Crown and a fundamental support for her father and her sister’s future reigns.

A very intense and decisive 2025

Infanta will be on vacation until January 5, with time to reunite with family and friends. The next day he will resume classes at his boarding school in the UK. A difficult course awaits him, the last one, his coming of age, which will come on April 29, the final exam and the summer he will enjoy before entering his next step.

As happened with Princess Leonor, her future will be revealed in the spring of 2025 and this will be the moment where she follows the same steps as the heir to the throne and enters the army or chooses to do a university degree.
