Ivanka Trump and Hailey Bieber teamed up to support a friend and help her plan the perfect proposal. Drew Taggart, one half of the DJ duo The Chainsmokers, proposed to his girlfriend Marianne Fonseca and got some help from some of her closest friends.
Trump was one of the people who helped Taggart. Page Six Reports say Fonseca agreed to meet Trump at a restaurant and spend some time together. When he arrived, he found that Taggart and Trump had banded together for a surprise.
Taggart covered every surface in the restaurant with rose petals. A source told the outlet that Trump “played the ultimate wingwoman, hosted the dinner” and kept everything under wraps.
Fonseca confirmed the story on her Instagram, saying that Trump “invited me to a girls dinner with him.”
“But when I got there, it was my love,” he continued. “You got me so good.”
Hailey Bieber’s involvement
Hailey Bieber was also involved in the proposal, with Taggart recruiting more of Fonseca’s closest friends to attend the surprise.
“In addition to Ivanka hosting a cute girls night diversion,” the source said Page Six. “Drew enlisted the help of Marian’s inner circle to make the engagement unforgettable.”
Bieber provided some key input, including helping Taggart choose an engagement ring that Fonseca would love.
“When it came to selecting the perfect ring — a stunning 5-carat long cushion-cut diamond — Drew asked what Marianne wanted,” the source said. “The decision to expand the stone came from Marianne’s good friend Hailey Bieber.”
Bieber showed his support for Fonseca in an Instagram post, writing, “Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss.” Sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss.” Through various heart eye emojis.
Fonseca and Taggart were first linked together in May last year, when they were spotted holding hands after leaving a party in Miami. The two are often featured on each other’s Instagram pages, where they share tons of photos of their adventures together.
In September of last year, Taggart released a song called “Summertime Friends” that he wrote for Fonseca.
“I think I knew then that we were meant to be together,” she wrote in an Instagram post, which included various photos of the two and a snippet of a then-unreleased song.
“Luckily I got up the courage to ask for her number at the end of the night and luckily she was open minded.”
