‘The Clan’ (Inspector Elena Blanco 5)’, by Elena Blanco (Ed. Planeta)
Controversy aside, we must admit that these guys, sorry, Carmen Mola, write incredibly well and their stories are not predictable. This is demonstrated by ‘El Clan’, the conclusion of the Inspector Elena Blanco story, And the end of which, I tell you, do not expect It makes you like his other books, although ‘The Deep Sea’ is difficult to read and take in. Inspector Elena Blanco from the Case Analysis Brigade (BAC) faces her greatest threat yet: a dangerous organization known as the Clan, which unites influential people from the business, political, judicial and police worlds. Facing them is a death sentence. Nevertheless, BAC decided to take the risk.
But when Elena finds some photos that show Jarrett in a pool of blood, she makes a bad decision. Now, with an arrest warrant out against him and accused of murdering a police officer, while Zarate is missing, his accomplices Mariazo, Reyes, Orduño and Buendia act on their own. The arrival of a new inspector, who appears to be affiliated with the group and determined to destroy the BAC and capture Blanco, worsens the situation.
After discovering new bodies, Elena pushes her investigation to the limit to save her team and find Jarrett, not knowing if he’s still alive. This is the beginning of the end for BAC, which has never faced such a ruthless enemy as the group.
