“How to Train Your Dragon” is getting the live-action treatment. The movie, which will be released next year, is based on the successful animated films Hiccup and Toothless, exploring the adventures of a young Viking and his dragon. The film is being adapted by the same team behind the animated films, and a cast is rounded out by Mason Thames, Nico Parker and Gerard Butler.
Universal Studios released the film’s first teaser trailer today, offering a first look at the characters of Hiccup, Toothless and Stoick. In the teaser, Hiccup, a young Viking, isn’t comfortable slaying dragons, a necessary part of his Viking training.
While on a mission to slay dragons, Hiccup meets Toothless, the two become fast friends. The teaser depicts the moment they meet, faithfully adapting the animated film to live action.
