Coco Gough is hosting her first Thanksgiving party. The 20-year-old tennis star has just moved into her new home in Florida, is living alone for the first time, and has started the holidays. On November 25, Goff hosted a Friendsgiving with some of her closest friends and cousins, sharing some updates on social media.
Gough revealed that everyone would contribute food to the party, revealing that she had baked a sweet potato pie.
“Made sweet potato pie for the first time,” she wrote on social media. “I’m always going to be the older cousin who invites herself to stay at Tiktok.”
She shared that her guests contributed a variety of delicacies, including “4 loaves, 2 regular, one chocolate chip, one walnut banana bread.”
This marks the second year in which Gough has documented her cooking on Thanksgiving, revealing last year that she tried and failed to bake a banana bread.
“The bananas were too ripe, because you have to wait,” she said. “I think I waited too long, so I threw them away.”
“I tried to freestyle it, without it and it turned out horrible. I tried to make it for my fitness coach’s birthday, but then when I tested it, I [like]’I can’t give it to him.’ I was really disappointed by this, because banana bread is what I’m good at. I just thought I’d be good enough to, you know, skip a few elements.”
Coco Gauff’s amazing 2024 season
Coco Gough’s career continued to blossom. This year, she ended her season with an incredible feat, becoming the youngest WTA Finals winner since Maria Sharapova in 2004. Goff’s win gave her the biggest singles prize in WTA history: $4.8 million.
Asked about breaking the record for youngest player, Goff said, “I asked (about the record) as soon as I got the match,” he said, per WTA.
“I asked: ‘Is this the youngest? It must be some kind of record.’ Asked Akash’s team what the answer was. They didn’t have it, but it’s good to know.”
He then shared that he was born in 2004, coincidentally found some poetry and meaning. “It was 2004. That was the last year I was born, so in my lifetime, basically, I’ve never seen it. It’s pretty cool. It just shows age is a number, both old and young.”
