Jamie Foxx is finally talking about what happened to his health in 2023 While shooting a film in Atlanta at the time, news broke that Fox had been hospitalized and family members from across the country rushed to support her.
Fox is finally revealing what happened in a new Netflix special titled “Jamie Foxx: What Happened…”
Fox revealed that he suffered a brain hemorrhage that resulted in a stroke.
“I’ve been to hell and back,” he said specifically. The symptoms first appeared as headaches, but when they did not improve, he went to a hospital. There it was determined that he needed emergency brain surgery.
“I don’t remember 20 days,” he said.
“They thought they were going to lose me because my vitality was out of control. That’s when a miracle happened and that miracle was working through my youngest daughter,” he said, referring to Anneliese, who was playing music with him in her room.
“When he was playing I was drained of energy. God was in that guitar.”
Fox revealed that doctors shared that he could make a full recovery “but this is going to be the worst year of his life.”
Fox couldn’t believe he’d had a stroke
After he returned to his body, Fox shared that he was in a wheelchair and didn’t know what had happened. A friend told him he had had a stroke. “Jamie Foxx doesn’t get strokes,” he remembered saying.
He rehabbed in Chicago and shared that he had to let go of his ego to fully recover and get back to the life he was living before. Throughout the special, Fox showed how well he’s recovered, performing three sold-out nights singing, dancing and playing the piano for audiences.
