The docs' union has been embroiled in a recent gender discrimination row after its members had been accused of behaving in an 'inferior' and 'disrespectful' method in the direction of ladies.
Dr Latifa Patel, who chaired the British Medical Affiliation (BMA) annual convention in Belfast this week, claimed she was disrespected and 'handled badly'.
She advised delegates that she and BMA council vice-chairman Dr Emma Runswick had been handled otherwise than their male predecessors.
