Queensland coach Billy Slater has opened up concerning the lack of Xavier Coates from his Origin group, revealing the Maroons star was left emotional after struggling a hamstring damage.
Coates limped after making an attempt a dive for the ball throughout Melbourne's 16-6 win over Canberra at AAMI Park on Saturday night time and was carried to the altering rooms by trainers.
