Awards season is already bringing two fan-favorite stars together. Selena Gomez and Ariana Grande publicly showed their support for each other after learning of their Golden Globe nominations for ‘Emilia Perez’ and ‘Wicked,’ respectively. The pair had a sweet exchange at the Academy Women’s luncheon at the Academy Museum on Tuesday.
They both looked stunning in head-to-toe Chanel, with Ariana wearing a blue-and-white sleeveless tweed dress with a V-neckline and square pockets. She paired the look with black leather pumps, a quilted Chanel bag, minimal diamond jewelry and a black hair bow.
© Stephanie KeenanThe two stars have similar backgrounds, starting their careers on Disney Channel and Nickelodeon, becoming popular singers and continuing their careers in acting. The pair sat together at lunch and were happy to share a special moment between their nominations.
Meanwhile, Selena wore a black tweed skirt suit with a matching cropped jacket featuring a white collar and arm cuffs. The actress completed the ensemble with sheer black tights and white Mary Jane platform pumps.

I recognize it because it resonates with me so I know that feeling. So when you can reach out to your friends in the industry and say, ‘Great job, congratulations,’ why not do it?
© Stephanie KeenanThe ‘Wicked’ actress was one of the first to contact Selena after the nomination was announced. “Ariana texted me and it was the sweetest note and it was six in the morning,” Selena told the publication.
© Stephanie Keenan“I respect her so much, and I’ve always loved her,” Ariana continued about Selena. “I was really happy to see Selena together. It was very special,” he added. “I don’t even know Selena and I wish I did so I’m excited to sit next to her today.”
“I know firsthand how isolating this industry can feel at times, but moments like this, being in a room like this and talking to all these amazing women,” Selena said at the luncheon. “It reminds me that I’m not alone.”
