Just 86 years old and in exile for 45 years, Farah Diba, the last empress of Iran and widow of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, has measured her public presence in recent times, but it is her granddaughter Noor, who wanted to show a picture of the whole family: tThree generations of Pahlavis have lived between France and the United States.
Gone were her years as empress, which ended when the 1979 revolution forced the couple and their four children into exile on a long journey until they found a welcoming country, and which would eventually last a lifetime. Shah died in 1980 and Farah Diba remained in charge of her familywhile his eldest son, Reza, assumed the leadership of his house as crown prince. Over time, both became prominent leaders of the Iranian opposition. Since his exile, Reza (Jr.) has been actively involved in the struggle for democracy in Iran, calling on the international community to support the quest for independence and working to unite Iran’s various opposition figures.
Farah Diba, who has always been one of the most elegant and attractive royal women, maintains her elegance, as shown in these photos in which she poses surrounded by her family: her son Reza with his wife Yasmin and His three granddaughters, Noor, Farah, Iman and the latter’s partner. It must be remembered that Empress Farah had four children, but lost the two youngest in dramatic circumstances.
